Haiying Zhang (1972 - ) is a Chinese English translator. She is the founder of Little Bird Publishing in the United Kingdom.
Haiying came to the UK to study MA translation course at Middlesex University in 2002. While Haiying was at Middlesex, she specialised in the theory and practise in translating poetry, song lyrics and children's literature.
Haiying's poetry and song lyrics translations have been published by Chinese journals "ShiKan" [Poetry Periodical] and "CiKan" [Song Lyrics Periodical] since 2004 after she graduated from Middlesex University.
Haiying also writes her own poems both in Chinese and English. Haiying's poems which were written in English have been published by Forword Press in the United Kingdom since 2006.
Before coming to the UK, Haiying was the headteacher of Harbin Fan Xing Foreign Language School between 1997 - 2001, where she taught English to Chinese children.
Haiying set up Little Bird Publishing in the UK in 2006 to translate Chinese books into English and vice versa.
