London Chinese Orchestra

Founded in 1984 and administrated by the Chinese Cultural Centre, The London Chinese Orchestra is the first formally organised professional Chinese ensemble in the UK. Its members comprise of professionally instrumentalists from China, Taiwan & Hong Kong. Principle instruments are: Erhu (2 stringed fiddle), Pipa (4 stringed Chinese lute), Di & Xiao (bamboo vertical & horizontal flutes), Yangqin (dulcimer) & heng (wind instrument).
