Chinese Film Society

The Chinese Film Society (CFS) was established in 1984 with an objective to provide the Chinese community and the non-Chinese with entertainment having a cultural value and to enrich the cultural life in the community by presenting films which would not normally find their way into local commercial cinemas.

Its work has been recognised by the Greater London Arts (the then London Arts) as "the only organisation who brings Chinese films to London which has contributed to and enhanced film and video culture in the region".

The festival consists of a 7-10 day programme of a thematic archiveand contemporary video, film & documentaries produced from Hong Kong, Taiwan
