With his parents working in faraway Tibet, Lu Xiaochun has grown up with his grandfather in a little village by the sea. When his grandfather passes away, his parents send Xiaochun to a school in a big city. But Xiaochun misses his life by the sea with Grandpa. Later Xiaochun meets an elderly man, Ma Changyou, and with Ma's help and encouragement, he successfully swims across the Qiongzhou Strait to achieve a Guinness record.
